GETTING TO FALLING WATERS

By car from New York City:
Take NY State Thruway (I-87) to exit 20 (Saugerties), turning right after toll booth onto NY Route 212 East/32. Follow 212/32 through the village of Saugerties for 1.08 miles. Turn Right onto Rt. 9W South/32 at Partition Street, the "Inquiring Mind" bookstore will be in front of you on the right. Continue following signs for 9W South. (You will make several turns: just keep following signs.) Cross the steel bridge and continue up the hill one more mile to Spaulding Lane on your left. (Watch for a Tile Shop on the corner of Spaulding Lane). Take Spaulding Lane to the end where you will see the entrance to Falling Waters. 

Getting to Falling Waters via Public TRANSPORTATION

From the NY City airports:
From Queens, NY: There are shuttle buses on the half hour from NY La Guardia and NY JFK Airports (these airports are located in Queens, NY) directly to Port Authority Bus Terminal, Grand Central Station or Penn Station in Manhattan (NY City). The trip takes from about 30 to 90 minutes and costs about $12.00 or $15.00 one way.  Follow the Airport signs for "Ground Transportation/Shuttle Bus" inside the airport. http://www.nyairportservice.com/index.html. **We recommend taking the airport shuttle bus to Port Authority Bus Terminal, then taking the Adirondack Trailway's bus to Kingston, NY.

From Port Authority Bus Terminal: (at 41st & 8th Avenue, New York City--mid-town Manhattan), take the Adirondack Trailways bus to Kingston, NY.  (On the first day of each workshop, someone from the Centre will meet the bus that departs NYC @ 9:30 a.m. and arrives in Kingston @ 11:35 a.m. and drive you to Falling Waters. Please note:On February 15th, 19th and 23rd, we will be picking up students who arrive in Kingston at 11:35a.m. on the Adirondack Trailway 9:30 a.m. bus from NY City. For those coming from Albany International Airport: if your bus gets in to Kingston from Albany before 11:35, you can wait at the Kingston bus terminal until 11:35 a.m. and we also will drive you to Falling Waters. Please let us know, in advance, if you will wait for us to drive you, instead of you taking the taxi.

If you arrive in Kingston on a different bus or on a different date, then it is necessary for you to reserve a taxi in advance.  The taxi from Kingston to Falling Waters in Saugerties is about $23 plus tip and the phone number is 845-331-8294. From Albany, NY International Airport to bus terminal: 
From Albany International Airport which takes about 1.5 hours to get to Saugerties, NY: http://www.albanyairport.com/ Follow the signs for Ground Transportation area and ask for directions on how to get to the Adirondack Trailways bus terminal location at the airport. It’s about $12.00 one way. Then take that bus to Kingston, NY. For Adirondack Trailways schedules, reservations and fare information please call 1-800-776-7548 or http://www.trailwaysny.com/.  To get from Kingston, NY to Saugerities, NY, before you board the bus from Albany, please reserve a taxi in advance.  The taxi from Kingston to Falling Waters in Saugerties is about $23 plus tip and the phone number is 845-331-8294.

Via Train from Penn Station and Grand Central Station in New York:
From Penn Station: Amtrak provides service from NY Penn Station & other points to Rhinecliff, NY. www.amtrak.com. From Rhinecliff, it is about a 30 minute, about a $50 taxi ride to Falling Waters in Saugerties. Prior to boarding your train, or as soon as you arrive in N.Y., please call 845-758-1478 in advance, as the taxi service requires a reservation. From Grand Central Station: Metro North Railroad provides service from New York City Grand Central Station to Poughkeepsie, NY for about $18.00 one way. www.mta.nyc.ny.us/mnr/index.html.  From Poughkeepsie, it is about a 1 hour ride, and about $65 plus tolls taxi ride to Falling Waters in Saugerties.
