The Playback Theatre community in Hong Kong has developed apace since its first introduction in 1996. The Arts with the Disabled Association in Hong Kong (HKADA) has been a key influence from the beginning. It was able to seek funding for Playback training so that many of the early courses in Playback Theatre in Hong Kong were highly subsidized. Youth workers, educators and social activists were many of the first students of Playback Theatre there. This is reflected in the many contexts where Playback Theatre is practiced and performed there now. From the beginning, the trainings were also inclusive. There are several groups in HK with people of intellectual and physical differences. This is another key value that the HKADA continues to uphold. Playback for all!

HKADA will be offering the first Advanced Level training in Hong Kong with Bev Hosking & Michele Chung teaching the ten-day Practice in Playback Theatre.

Start: July 31, 2012 3:00pm
End: August 9, 2012 1:30pm
Venue: Kwun Tong, Kowloon, Hong Kong

This is for Playbackers who want to develop their Playback skills professionally and aspire to become Playback leaders, and is a prerequisite for the 3-week Leadership in Playback Theatre training and thence graduation from the School of Playback Theatre.

There are some places left! In the setting of an inclusive community, participants will have ample opportunities for practice, under the coaching and teaching by two very experienced trainers.
